  • Museum Bulletins – new editions
    The no. 5 of the Museum Bulletin and the no. 2 of the Children’s Bulletin are now available for download. These Bulletins were presented during the commemorations of the International Museum Day.
  • European Night of Museums 2011

    The Quinta das Cruzes Museum commemorated once again the European Night of Museums (May 14) and the International Museum Day (May 18), whose theme was Museums and Memory: objects tell their story.
    Overall, in these two days, plus the extension of educational activities on 19 and 20 May, we had a total of 950 visitors who participated in the organized activities, outstanding among them an increasing share of young audiences.

  • Plastic expression ateliers (16th of May 2008)

    Between the 16th and 18th of May the Quinta das Cruzes Museum had many activities related with the commemorations of the Night of the Museums and International Museum Day.

  • The MAIOS and spring in the Portuguese Jewellery

    The exhibition The Maios and spring in the Portuguese Jewellery aims to establish the confrontation between traditional Madeiran May Necklaces and jewelry pieces from the collection of the Quinta das Cruzes Museum, where the flower is a structuring element.

  • European Night of Museums 2011

  • Exhibition "Masterpieces of Madeira"
    The Quinta das Cruzes Museum is present in the temporary exhibition "Obras de Referência dos Museus da Madeira" (Masterpieces in the Museums of Madeira) with thirty three pieces. The exhibition is open between April and December 2008, in the Museum of Sacred Art of Funchal.
  • No title – Landscape, Manuel Tavares

    On February 1st the Quinta das Cruzes Museum inaugurated the temporary exhibition “A Donation – Teresa e Altino Pinto Magalhães” which seeks to disseminate a series of 33 paintings included in the Museum estate, donated by General Altino Pinto Magalhães.

  • International Day of the Museums

    Within the commemorations of the International Day of the Museums, 18th of May, the Museum Quinta das Cruzes, organizes a Cultural Gincana, between 10.00 and 12.30 a.m., subordinate to “Museums and Tourism”, with the participation of the school of São Filipe and of the Externato Júlio Dinis.
    The International Day of the Museums, an initiative of the ICOM, has this year the subject “Museums and Tourism”.

  • International Museum Day 2011

    As part of the celebrations of the International Museum Day, the Quinta das Cruzes Museum will have, in addition to guided tours (11.00 a.m. and 03.00 p.m.), some activities designed for school audiences, focusing on stories surrounding some of the collections.
